Also referred as acetic acid, this laboratory chemical is the sodium salt. It forms ester along with bromoethane which is a type of alkyl halide. Available in powder form, this chemical easily dilutes in water. It is hygroscopic by nature. Free from unpleasant smell, Sodium Acetate tends to emit vinegar like smell when heated. Its boiling point is 881.4 degree C and melting point is 324 degree C.
